Steve graduated in 2004 from Glasgow University and has worked in Castle Douglas ever since. He has a keen interest in all aspects of farm animal medicine especially hoof care and fertility.

Kirstin Miller BVM&S MRCVS
Kirstin graduated in 2008 from Edinburgh University when she worked in mixed practice in Annan for two years before moving to the Stewartry. Kirstin is currently part time at Threave Farm Vets.

Clare Hughes BVMS MRCVS
Clare graduated from Glasgow University in 2012 and after a brief stint in Ireland has worked in Castle Douglas ever since. Clare has a postgraduate certificate in advanced cattle medicine.

Thomas Graduated from Glasgow University in 2021 and has been with us ever since.

Peter Hastings BVMS MRCVS
Peter graduated in 1997 from Glasgow University. Brought up on a farm, Peter now specialised in cattle fertility and lameness.

Iain Hastings BVMS MRCVS
Iain grew up on a local dairy farm and graduated from Glasgow University in 1997. He joined Nithsdale Vets in 2005 after working predominantly in Cheshire. Iain enjoys all aspects of large animal surgery.

Alistair Padkin BVMS MRCVS
After qualifying from Glasgow University in 2004, Alistair worked in mixed practice for 2 years and for the last 11 years has been a dedicated farm animal vet. Alistair has a particular interest in cattle fertility and sheep medicine.

Linda Nelson BVM&S MRCVS
Linda qualified from Edinburgh University in 2007 and has worked at Nithsdale Vets ever since. She has a keen interest in sheep medicine and large animal surgery.

Sarah Matthews BVM&S MRCVS
Sarah joined Nithsdale Vets in 2012 after graduating from Edinburgh Vet School. Throughout university she was always drawn to large animal work so the job at Nithsdale Vets was a great match!
